Okuda［3］等用提纯的牙龈卟啉菌的血凝素蛋白免疫兔，然后将获得的兔的抗血清反 复接种于感染了牙龈卟啉菌的仓鼠的牙周，观察发现免疫鼠的牙龈卟啉菌的数量较对照组大 大减少。推测其原因在于兔血清中的抗体与牙龈卟啉菌结合，减轻了牙龈卟啉菌的增殖。
　　Takahshi［17］等利用口腔牙周、粘膜的多数致病菌，包括放线菌属、梭形杆菌属 、类杆菌属和卟啉菌属等，制作多效价的疫苗免疫奶牛，由于牛奶中含有大量的抗体，可与 细菌细胞发生反应，凝集病原菌，因而可望达到预防和控制牙周病和粘膜病的目的。
